There is perhaps no greater mystery than this: the God who needs nothing still desires us. Though we fail Him countless times, He continues to call us, feed us, and draw us back to Himself. Such is the love of a God who never grows tired of loving His people.

Hibla: The Message of the Readings

The Lord invites everyone to come and be satisfied without cost. St. Paul assures us that nothing can separate us from Christ’s love, and the Gospel reveals that before Jesus multiplied the loaves, He was moved with compassion. Every miracle begins with the heart of a God who refuses to abandon His people.

Hugot: Points to Ponder

We often believe that God must be disappointed in us. After all, we know our sins better than anyone else. Yet today’s readings reveal a God who never asks, “Are you worthy enough?” Instead, He simply says, “Come.” His love is not exhausted by our failures, nor diminished by our weaknesses. Like a father waiting for his child to come home, He continues to seek us long before we ever think of seeking Him.

Mother Teresa often reminded us that Jesus’ cry, “I thirst,” is His thirst for our love. Imagine that—the One who satisfies every hunger still longs for our hearts. Not because He needs us to complete Him, but because His love refuses to stop searching until every child knows they are loved.

Hamon: The Challenge

This week, stop measuring yourself by your failures. Instead, spend a few quiet moments before the Blessed Sacrament or in prayer and simply receive God’s love. Then become that same compassion for someone who feels forgotten, hungry, or unloved.
