Even when the celebrations of Christmas seem to have passed, the mystery of Christ continues to unfold. The Solemnity of the Epiphany reminds us that Jesus is not only born for one race, but revealed to all nations. Christmas does not end—it expands.
Hibla: The Message of the Readings
The readings point back to ancient prophecies that reveal what God was preparing all along. Isaiah speaks of light rising upon the world, attracting nations and kings. The psalm echoes this promise, foretelling a reign marked by justice and peace. In the Gospel, the Magi—outsiders and foreigners—recognize what many failed to see: the true King has come, not in power or wealth, but in humility.
Hugot: Points to Ponder
Through Christ, all are invited to belong. As St. Paul writes, we are now “members of the same body and sharers of the promise.” Through Jesus, we are adopted as sons and daughters, included in God’s plan, and made rightful heirs of His grace.
Hamon: The Challenge
Ask yourself today: do I truly recognize Christ for who He is, or am I blinded by my own expectations of how God should act?
