Obedience Unlocks Proclamation
December 23, 2025

| Gospel Reading | Luke 1:57–66 |
When Zechariah insists on the child’s God-given name, his tongue is miraculously unbound. This moment reveals that alignment with God’s will — even when it goes against tradition or expectation — brings freedom. When God’s plan is accepted, silence gives way to praise.
Hibla: The Message of the Readings
John the Baptist’s birth marks the end of prophetic silence and the beginning of fulfillment. Zechariah’s restored speech symbolizes this transition: obedience unlocks proclamation. By naming the child “John,” Zechariah does not merely identify his son — he claims God’s prepared plan.
Hugot: Points to Ponder
There are moments in life when we, too, are rendered silent — by fear, trauma, confusion, or unresolved pain. Like Zechariah, we may struggle to speak until we are ready to face and name the truth, accept and obey God’s will.
Hamon: The Challenge
The challenge today is simple but demanding: name what is holding you captive. Write it down. Pray over it. Ask God for the grace to agree with His truth, not your fear.
