We get thirsty.
We complain.
We try to survive with what is immediate, temporary, or easy.
Lent reminds us: our deepest thirst is for God, and only He can satisfy it.
Hibla: The Message of the Readings
The Israelites grumbled at the well, doubting God.
The Samaritan woman searched for fulfillment in water that could never quench her.
Jesus offers living water, not just to drink, but to be transformed.
Faith is not about avoiding thirst.
Faith is about learning to drink where God provides.
Hugot: Points to Ponder
We spend our lives filling ourselves with temporary fixes:
- endless scrolling for distraction
- approval from others
- comfort that doesn’t last
Yet the living water calls:
You are looking for satisfaction in everything else—but only Jesus fills the emptiness.
Hamon: The Challenge
Replace a habitual complaint with a thank-you to God—acknowledge one blessing each day.
