Strength Born from Weakness
December 19, 2025
Friday advent weekday – Misa de gallo day 4
| First Reading | Judges 13:2–7, 24–25 |
| Psalm | Psalm 71:3–4, 5–6, 16–17 |
| Gospel Reading | Luke 1:5–25 |
Today’s readings revolve around strength born from weakness. In the First Reading, the story of Samson begins not with power, but with barrenness. In the Gospel, the story of John the Baptist also begins in a place where hope seemed exhausted—Zechariah and Elizabeth’s old age and childlessness. Both stories remind us that God’s saving work often begins where human strength ends.
Hibla: The Message of the Readings
The core truth is this: God’s strength is not limited by human impossibility.
Hugot: Points to Ponder
God often works most powerfully in seasons of waiting, silence, and apparent weakness—when we have nothing left to rely on but Him.
Hamon: The Challenge
Instead of rushing to question or despair, wait with faith. Allow God to transform your weakness into the beginning of His purpose.
